So, you've decided you want to turn your character into a mech, eh? It's a pretty big step, and non-reversible, so think it over carefully. On one hand, you have phenomenal cosmic power! On the other hand, not all mechs are created equal, and you'll need to take some flaws for those upgrades.
Main pros/cons of mechs:
You start out with the equivalent of light armor.
You can no longer wear suits, but you can still wear helmets.
You are roughly 2.5 meters in height.
If your total non-innate strength is +3 or more, you can carry ship weapons. (This does not necessarily mean you can use them - you'll need the carry bits for that.)
Mech weapons are, for the most part, hands-free.
You can install ship-based robotics items on your arms. Want a mech with a giant scythe-arm? That's a thing. You can even take it off back at base so you can have your hand back.
Your PDA is attached to your palm; switching to PDA is no longer an action. Must still have one hand free.

There's a handy list at the very bottom of the page of all the items you've gotten, and a truncated explanation of what they do. If you're transitioning to a mech, you can post this on the forums.
